Anyone on a summer vacation is looking forward to cooling off. Fortunately, there are several bathing lakes, natural pools and hidden water spots around Eglofs – each one special in its own way.
Some lakes are large and offer everything that families and active people need. Others lie quietly, almost like an insider tip. And they all belong to the Allgäu Lake District, a landscape where water is as much a part of the summer scenery as the meadows and mountains.
- The Argenbühl mud baths are just a few minutes away from our hotel. Natural, quiet and with soft moor water – refreshing and soothing at the same time.
- The large Alpsee lake invites you to swim, row, sunbathe or simply look around. The gentle waves, the view of the mountains and the long lakeside paths make it a favorite place for many guests.
- The Waldsee in Lindenberg is considered one of the warmest moorland lakes for swimming in Germany. There is a lovely playground, a small café and plenty of space to linger – ideal for a relaxing afternoon with the family.
- Lake Constance, just 35 minutes away, offers Mediterranean flair, lakeside promenades and panoramic views as far as Switzerland. If you like, you can take a day trip to Lindau, to one of the numerous outdoor pools directly on the lake or simply enjoy the light by the water.
Whether you take a few quiet laps in the morning or dip your feet in the water after a hike – the lakes in the Allgäu are perfect for swimming on warm days, quiet moments and pure refreshment.
