This tour of the CycleTravelRegion Nature Conservation Chambers lives up to its name. The official starting point is in the picturesque old town of Isny, which is known for its unique city skyline with striking church towers. Isny boasts a number of sights that reflect the history of the former free imperial city. The baroque buildings house museums and galleries that are well worth a visit. When cycling through Isny, you should definitely make a stop at the St. Georg and Jakobus Church, the town wall or the Espantor.
After exploring the town of Isny, the route continues towards the spa town of Neutrauchburg. The village is known as a rehabilitation site. As you pass through, you can also catch a glimpse of Neutrauchburg Castle. The castle was built by the Waldburg-Zeil family in 1772 and has been a hotel since 2008.
The cycle path then continues through the Harprechtser Moos, which is part of the Bodenmöser nature reserve. Varied views of the moss landscape await you here. The moss area offers a wide variety of flora and fauna.
The cycle tour leads through Eglofs and past Syrgenstein Castle. The Allgäu hills around Eglofs offer a magnificent view of the Alps before heading back down into the valley. Towards the end of the tour, another highlight awaits you: the Eistobel. With its raging waterfalls and rushing rapids, the Eistobel is a real sight to behold. The Obere Argen has been eating its way through the rock here for thousands of years, creating this unique mountain gorge. You can take a look at the Eistobel from the bridge near Maierhöfen. Unfortunately, the hiking trail through the ravine is closed to cyclists.

From panoramic views to historic villages, this route through the Allgäu has plenty to offer. The route starts at the village square directly in front of the Hotel zur Rose and then leads out of Eglofs. It goes over hills and along cow pastures towards Wangen im Allgäu, where you can not only enjoy views over the historic old town, but also pass the allotment gardens and the Hammerweiher pond. The following kilometers are quite hilly, but the views are worth it. The route then leads through Ratzenried before heading towards Siggener Höhe – the highest point of the tour.
Once at the top, you can take a break and enjoy the view of the Alps. On a clear day, you can see the entire Nagelfluhkette and as far as the Säntis. After the Siggener Höhe, the route first goes downhill before heading uphill again towards Eisenharz. The route passes the Eisenharz village fountain, which is also the start of the St. Exupery hiking trail. The last few kilometers back to the Hotel Rose are a gentle up and down – perfect for “cycling out”.
